We revealed the profound foresight and wisdom shared by students, whose insights from 2022 continue to inspire and shape the future of PEPY’s systemic approach to wellness that includes a new framework called “PEPY Pathways”.

PEPY Pathways: Bridging the Gaps in Student Wellness
In 2022, students shared profound insights that inspired the creation of PEPY Pathways, a universal wellness framework designed to address developmental gaps between early childhood, middle school, and high school. Presented to CASS attendees, PEPY Pathways showcases the simplicity and power of the PEPY 3-Dot Model and nine wellness practices, offering a consistent, systemic approach to teaching wellness as a life skill.

Wellness as a Life Skill: Students emphasized the importance of integrating wellness into daily school life at every grade level.
Lost Continuity: They identified gaps in wellness practices as they transitioned from K-4 to middle and high school, resulting in lost habits and reduced impact.
The Need for Reflection and Habits: Students highlighted the lack of time and tools to build lasting habits and the importance of engaging, age-appropriate wellness activities.
Empowerment and Autonomy: Older students valued wellness practices but struggled with stress, purpose, and recognizing their gifts, leading to decreased well-being.

PEPY Pathways provides a visual framework to identify and address gaps in wellness education across age transitions, ensuring continuity and growth. By building awareness of the PEPY 3-Dot Model and holistic wellness practices, PEPY Pathways empowers students from kindergarten to Grade 12 with tools to:
Develop their whole selves consistently.
Maintain habits and connections formed in early years.
Address age-appropriate needs with simple, engaging wellness activities.

With its systemic approach, PEPY Pathways has the potential to maximize the return on early wellness investments, ensuring students retain and build on foundational practices throughout their educational journey. By creating a seamless transition strategy, it equips PEPY Energy Coaches and Youth Leaders to support students as they grow, fostering resilience, purpose, and balance at every stage of development.
